Overview
Elementary Curriculum Coaching Manager at KIPP St. Louis. In collaboration with the regional’s broader Regional Academic Team, provides data-driven, strategic instructional and curricular support for all building-based academic and instructional coaches. Requires elementary teaching and coaching experience. The role includes supporting school PLCs and reports to the VP of Academics and Instruction. Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Problem Solving: Serve as a thought partner and problem solver, identifying root causes and developing innovative solutions to challenges in reading and math instruction. Set a clear direction, manage multiple priorities, and thrive under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Coordinate support across elementaries in alignment with regional priorities, ensuring literacy and math goals are consistently advanced. Instructional Leadership & Capacity Building: Provide targeted instructional coaching support to building-level reading and math coaches, administrators, and teachers through professional development, classroom walkthroughs, model lessons, data analysis, internalization/content meetings, and lesson development training. Strengthen school teams by creating and implementing standards-based blueprints, curricular resources, and instructional materials that elevate ELA and social studies instruction. Support the implementation of network-approved high-quality curricular resources, empowering coaches to lead improvements in their buildings. Professional Development & Collaboration: Design and deliver engaging professional development sessions that align with regional goals and equip coaches with practical tools and strategies. Attend building-based content meetings to offer strategic feedback on internalization protocols, assessment strategies, student work analysis, and MTSS interventions. Collaborate regularly with the VP of Schools and other regional leaders to align coaching practices across schools. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with clarity, confidence, and tact across a wide range of audiences, tailoring messages to inspire and motivate educators at all levels. Partner with school and regional leaders to encourage incremental progress while driving transformational change. Serve as a liaison for digital learning platforms, ensuring effective use and integration at the school level. Adaptability & Continuous Improvement: Step up to support emerging needs, adjusting priorities as necessary while maintaining focus on long-term goals. Support the continuing implementation of the regional’s strategic plan, ensuring instruction is fully integrated into the broader vision for student success. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Academics and Instruction. Handle ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned to meet evolving organizational priorities. Qualifications
What you bring to the table: Requirements: Education: Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Social Studies, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field (preferred). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience in elementary literacy, with at least 2 years in an instructional coaching or leadership role. Knowledge & Expertise: Deep understanding of instructional practice, content development, and effective lesson delivery strategies. Familiarity with MTSS frameworks, standards-based instruction, and curriculum design. Experience implementing and supporting high-quality instructional materials and digital learning platforms. Skills & Competencies: Strong strategic and analytical thinking; excellent written and verbal communication; highly collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Licensure: Appropriate elementary teaching license (Reading or Elementary 1-6 preferred). Regional and Office Support
