The Contra Costa County Public Works Department is recruiting to fill two Electrician vacancies in the Facilities Maintenance Division. Electricians service, maintain, and install various types of electrical work which may include traffic signals, building electrical systems, alarms, and communication equipment in buildings and facilities. Work is performed in multiple County facilities including jails, hospitals, clinics, libraries, and other public buildings. We Are Looking For Someone Who Is

Performing electrical work in a safe manner Constructing, installing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining electrical installations, systems, traffic signals, or equipment Planning layout and installation of wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on specifications and codes Connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits using testing devices to ensure safety and compatibility Cleaning, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment Interacting effectively with co-workers, County employees, and the public Create and submit project estimates A Few Reasons You Might Love This Job

License Required:
Possession of a Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Out-of-state license is acceptable during the application process. Experience:
Either 1) Completion of an electrician apprenticeship in the building trades with at least one year of journey-level experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance; or 2) Five years of full-time (or equivalent) experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance, with at least one year at journey level. Other Requirement:
Applicants must be able to obtain the Detention Facility Clearance to work in detention facilities. Desirable Qualifications
