Job Description EBAD seeks an engineer for the position
Development Engineer , reporting to the A&D Explosives Product Development Engineering group.
Responsibilities The development engineer (DE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product from concept through development, qualification and production. Primary duties include:
Duties include coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval for this documentation.
Requirements generation, allocation, and flow down
Technical compliance and risk assessment/management
Interact with customers on design, interface and functional details
Development and maintenance of the technical data package, product testing requirements and methods.
Create 3D conceptual models to meet customer design requirements
Perform design trade studies and hand calculations
Perform tolerance studies to ensure design fidelity
Interact with suppliers to rapid prototype parts for risk reduction testing
Cost estimating and management for both proposal and program activity
Requirements The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and 2+ years of experience in project, design or related engineering experience. Mechanical and/or Aerospace are the preferred engineering disciplines.
Proven leadership of technical teams
Ability to apply customer requirements and government/military specifications to design
Demonstrated experience generating 3D models & 2D drawings, SolidWorks preferred
Capable of applying GD&T, and understanding how it effects part cost
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and customers
Demonstrated competency in problem solving and root cause analysis
Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of explosive materials and energetic devices
Experience with product development, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing processes
Experience with all Microsoft Office tools including MS Project
ANSYS and Solid Works experience
Compensation Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
