Garnet River
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support our Employee Relations efforts. In this role, you will assist with fostering a positive workplace culture by helping manage employee communications, supporting conflict resolution processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures. This position will play a key support role in managing employee conduct matters, including documentation of performance issues, written warnings, and terminations, while helping to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
This is a part-time position, Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 2:30pm in our Saratoga Springs, NY office.
Job Duties
Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties Maintain and update employee records (both digital and physical) Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes Assist in preparing and issuing formal disciplinary documents, such as verbal and written warnings, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and termination notices Help coordinate and document employee terminations, including scheduling exit interviews, processing final paperwork, and updating records in HR systems Maintain confidential and accurate documentation related to disciplinary actions and investigations Support HR staff during employee performance discussions and exit meetings, as needed Ensure that all employee relations documentation follows company protocols and legal guidelines Assist with responding to employee concerns and complaints with professionalism and neutrality Help HR leaders ensure policy adherence and consistency across departments Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and assist with policy enforcement accordingly Provide administrative support for investigations involving employee misconduct or policy violations Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests Prepare reports and documents as requested (e.g., attendance reports, HR metrics) Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies and HR regulations Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Strong understanding of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail Familiarity with HR policies, disciplinary procedures, and applicable labor laws Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel); experience with HRIS, employee benefits and payroll platforms Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Hourly Rate or Salary Range
