Duties
Responsible for the total planning, implementation, and operation of computer and data communication systems for the Kirk Army Health Clinic Network.
Conduct feasibility studies of automated systems that include design concepts, hardware, software, communications network, and progress of specific projects against overall objectives.
Recommend enhancements to current automated systems, new approaches, and new methods.
Participate in the strategic planning efforts to implement the use of new operating applications.
Provide technical guidance, training, and direct supervision to employees of the Information Management Division.
Responsible for the justification, acquisition, efficient utilization, and regulatory reporting of Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) and associated resources for the Clinic.
Make provisions for development and training or cross training, consulting with specialists on training needs and deciding on training problems related to the organization.
Serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for the local area network (LAN), Medical Information Systems (MIS) and office automation applications.
Conditions of Employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
Incumbents must obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
