What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Make collection counseling calls to delinquent mortgage and consumer loan customers to assess their situations and set payment expectations
Maintain accurate records of collection activity using core collection applications
Prepare advanced collection correspondence and call letters, and assist in management report preparation
Counsel customers on options for loans maturing with balloon payments or transitioning to repayment
Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering statutes
What is Required (Qualifications)
1‑2 years of experience in mortgage and consumer collections
Strong understanding of lending laws, regulations, and guidelines
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
Experience in financial services or banking preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous experience in mortgage and consumer loan collection
Familiarity with Encompass, Cleartouch, Nautilus, and various government and investor software/web portals
Strong communication and service orientation skills
