Job summary
The Contract Recruiter will recruit Electrical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Automation Specialists, and Technical Field Service Engineers within the filling, capping, packaging and industrial automation sector. The recruiter will manage full-cycle recruiting—from sourcing and screening to offer coordination—to help rapidly fill critical technical roles that support machine design, programming, and field commissioning.
Essential Functions
Partner with HR and Engineering leadership to understand position requirements and priorities for electrical, automation, and field service engineering roles.
Source, identify, and engage top talent with experience in machine automation, PLC/HMI programming, industrial controls, and field service for packaging or process equipment.
Conduct pre-screening interviews to evaluate technical skills, field experience, and cultural fit.
Manage interview coordination, candidate communication, and offer negotiations in collaboration with hiring managers.
Develop creative sourcing strategies for both active and passive candidates across engineering and technical job boards, social media, and industry networks.
Maintain accurate recruiting activity and pipeline metrics, providing weekly progress reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven ability to recruit for roles requiring skills in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, B&R), HMI design, NFPA 79, motion control, AutoCAD Electrical, and field troubleshooting.
Familiarity with travel-based field service roles including FAT/SAT, machine installation, commissioning, and customer support.
Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Resume, and technical job boards (Automation.com, Controls Engineers Group, etc.).
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills; able to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
Education and Experience
5+ years of technical recruiting experience, with a strong focus on automation, electrical, and field service engineering roles.
Prior recruiting for OEMs or systems integrators in packaging, filling, capping, or food and beverage automation equipment preferred.
