Social Media Coordinator - AZ - Communications at Midwestern University. The Social Media Coordinator will coordinate all social media efforts for both the Downers Grove and Glendale Campuses, including academic programs, departments, medical clinics, and special marketing and communications projects within institutional and departmental goals. The position reports to the Social Media Manager and is part of the Glendale Campus Communications team, collaborating with key staff on the Downers Grove Campus. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Social Media: Organizes Midwestern University's social media presence by developing and maintaining content calendars, posting schedules, and campaigns to ensure consistent and engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads) and other channels. Ensures all copy adheres to the University's voice, style, and tone guidelines. Creative: Assist in designing and developing visual assets using Canva to build templates and frames for video and photo content aligned with the brand identity and tailored to each channel’s audience. Social Media Research: Conceptualizes new avenues and creative methods for reaching audiences based on current trends and initiatives, including those implemented by the university and peer institutions. Web Site and Other Electronic Publications: Collaborate with the Communications team in writing marketing articles for the website. Assist in creating new media marketing programs such as videos and mobile communications. Additional duties include: Support communications and special events of the Office of Communications at the Glendale Campus. Co-present social media-related topics during bi-monthly social media Advisory Group presentations. Collaborate with in-house designers on advanced creative imagery and graphic design needs. Superior writing and editing skills Excellent presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of all social media platforms and the ability to think strategically about how they contribute to marketing objectives Knowledge of recruitment and retention practices in higher education and their role in marketing Knowledge of professional practices and current technologies for producing electronic publications and maintaining institution-wide websites Ability to coordinate a wide variety of projects under demanding deadlines Ability to work collaboratively and support a collaborative work culture Education And/or Experience

Associate’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field. 3-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a marketing or communications office and/or as a writer/editor preferred. Experience with various social media platforms. Healthcare environment experience preferred. Additional experience in higher education, website management, and marketing research is preferred. Strong copywriting abilities for marketing-focused materials. Professionalism in interacting with internal and external publics. Computer Skills

MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with web CMS systems and social media content management platforms. Physical Demands
