Summary: Plans, develops, directs, and coordinates comprehensive communication programs, to include media, public affairs and publications, in close collaboration with other institutional communications and/or public relations activities. Qualifications Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Public/Media Relations, Advertising, Marketing or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education/experience Experience: Minimum of two years relevant work experience in marketing and/or public relations; healthcare a plus Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to produce clear written copy, press releases and other documentation for distribution to internal and external audiences Ability to edit typographic and grammatical errors Ability to speak persuasively and confidently to large and diverse audiences Ability to develop communications plans aligning with health system and marketing strategies Excellent writing skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong computer skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and Adobe Sufficient computer skills as required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual learning requirements Ability to organize varied workload, attention to detail, multi-task, meet deadlines, and stay within limited budget In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred

Establish integrated strategies, plans, and programs to ensure cohesive, consistent, and effective communication and public relations efforts in support of the mission and advancement goals of the organization. Advise leaders and physicians on public information matters, including researching, providing information, and developing messages. Develop, write and edit health system publications and communications, including a multi-page printed newsletter mailed to all residents three times a year; medical and educational articles distributed through media channels; wellness blog hosting medical, health and wellness articles. Develop communications plans for service lines and expand reach in new markets using various media channels. Write and distribute press releases on news-worthy content to regional media channels. Develop organic content (written, web, video, radio) educating community about health, wellness and services offered. Ensure clear and concise information provided to internal organization, media outlets, and general public. Identify opportunities to leverage content across marketing channels to positively engage the community in health and wellness. Responsible for communications internally and externally for Barton Health. Prepare copy and post social media communications; respond to blogs and comments online as needed for positive public relations and marketing. Develop and cultivate media relationships; pitch media to encourage positive stories aligned with Barton\'s brand. Serve as the healthcare spokesperson including print and on-camera interviews. Act as community contact for crisis media, coordinating with Joint Information Centers, civic organizations, police and fire departments, and school districts as Barton\'s representative for media outreach and public messaging development and delivery. Participate in crisis management planning and develop crisis communications plans. As required, serve as the PIO (Public Information Officer) for Barton HICS (Hospital Incident Command System), including message development, talking points, and media preparation for hospital staff. Collaborate with clinicians, hospital administration and community stakeholders on written communications and media outreach. Prepare grant writing for health system funding as needed. Develop strategy for photo and digital assets; negotiate contracts with vendors; direct photo and video shoots. Represent Barton in various community groups as assigned. Measure success of media coverage regionally. Respond to department needs by performing other duties, as necessary.
