This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Operations Team. Responsibilities

Prioritize excellent customer service for a wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.

Perform work within one or more specialized trade areas and apply trade-specific knowledge to troubleshooting, repair and remediation tasks.

Perform work relating to electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); electronics; carpentry; concrete and masonry; welding; plumbing; and/or painting.

Heavy lifting, manual labor, and operating machinery and heavy equipment per project needs.

Answer emergency calls and occasionally travel to other facilities to provide coverage and assistance. Provide after-hours coverage for emergencies (e.g., severe weather, snow removal, water leaks, fire) to ensure facilities and grounds are properly maintained for state business.

Follow OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.

Communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity to inspire trust and build positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.

Plan, manage, and direct numerous time-sensitive projects independently or as part of a team using procedures, regulations, and practices applicable to a specialized trade.

Interpret complex technical documentation to solve problems and present multiple resolution options.

3–5 years of on-the-job training in a trade area; experience operating and maintaining various equipment and tools.

Assess project requirements to determine whether in-house completion or contractor involvement is appropriate.

Maintain a safety-first mindset with knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions (OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred; FMDC can provide if needed).

Excellent time management, organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Strong attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.

Possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver license or a valid license from an adjacent state if residing outside Missouri.

This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position. Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is physically demanding. Examples of duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and on uneven or elevated surfaces. This list is not all-inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position, however other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. This position is considered a “Category 2” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate of time and one-half.
