Overview
Assist the store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. Objective is to receive hands-on training preparing the manager-in-training for a management position in another store or future location. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply. Essential Job Functions
Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members involved (professional: all delivery and installer service specialists; retail: all parts and merchandising specialists). Supervise work performed by all team members assigned to the store/HUB store; work with district and store managers on recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging team members; communicate information from team weekly and monthly store managers’ meetings to all team members. Train new team members; handle performance evaluations and recommend pay increases. Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified selections. Support the store manager with the assistant management team to ensure safety compliance and that team members receive appropriate training; monitor and reinforce safety expectations. Make sales calls with or without the store manager; may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls. Support store operations as assigned by the store manager. Maintain the delivery fleet and keep records for each vehicle; ensure staff keeps the store/HUB neat, clean, and organized; manage electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll; learn to utilize scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll entry systems. Learn to manage key components of gross profit; monitor returns for core and warranty abuse; review price matches and overrides; review daily KPI dashboards; review monthly P&L with the store manager and discuss opportunities. Required:
High School Diploma Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program Ability to read and match numerical/alphanumeric characters quickly and accurately Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems
Desired:
O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience Completed O’Reilly management training program Advanced computer skills ASE Certification Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
