Overview
IDD Crisis Intervention Specialist / Seguin CRU at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Crisis Services or designee, the Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) is a member of the IDD Crisis Team and the Southern Hub Crisis Team, providing integrated crisis services in-person and via televideo in Guadalupe, Caldwell, and Gonzales Counties. This position is part of an integrated crisis team, is credentialed as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). The CIS is dually supervised by the Seguin CRU Program Manager. The clinician provides information to individuals with IDD, their families/caregivers and providers about available IDD programs and services and assists with linkage to outpatient services. Ongoing case management services, including behavior strategies and parent training where appropriate, will be provided to a caseload of individuals with diagnoses of IDD/Autism who are experiencing crisis. There is daily opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members within internal BTCS programs and external Medicaid providers to identify and support individuals with IDD who are at risk of, or experiencing crisis. This clinician carries an ongoing caseload of individuals in need of IDD crisis services. For individuals with IDD referred to crisis facilities, such as Diversion Center, Crisis Respite Unit, and Youth Therapeutic Respite Program, the CIS develops a crisis service plan describing the needed therapeutic support, and works with the service coordinator and the service planning team to ensure that ongoing crisis follow-up and monitoring address identified concerns and issues. Responsibilities
Provide information to individuals with IDD, their families/caregivers and providers about available IDD programs and services and assist with linkage to outpatient services. Provide ongoing case management services, including behavior strategies and parent training where appropriate, to a caseload of individuals with IDD/Autism who are experiencing crisis. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members within internal BTCS programs and external Medicaid providers to identify and support individuals with IDD who are at risk of, or experiencing crisis. Develop a crisis service plan for individuals with IDD referred to crisis facilities and coordinate with the service coordinator and service planning team to ensure ongoing crisis follow-up and monitoring. Collaborate with law enforcement, the medical community/emergency room staff, schools, families, Medicaid providers and social service agencies to assist persons in crisis. Maintain strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of working with individuals experiencing crisis related to mental health, substance use, or IDD, and communicate effectively with diverse populations. Use integrated computer database programs to access files and document services; organize and prioritize work assignments; maintain a flexible work schedule and ability to work independently or collaboratively. Qualifications
Location: Caldwell, Guadalupe, and Gonzales Counties Hourly Salary Range: $24.23 - $36.98 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in a human services field; comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses; ability to work in a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment; minimum of two years case management experience; skills in using integrated computer database programs; valid Texas Driver\'s License. Other requirements: If degree is not in a human services field, a minimum of 24 college credits in a human services field are required. Preferred Qualifications
Master\'s degree; pursuing clinical licensure in counseling, social work or a related field. Bilingual in ASL or Spanish preferred; experience in providing concurrent documentation preferred. Licensure as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Note:
