Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Director is a professional who oversees the accounts payable department. The director ensures invoices are processed accurately and timely, manages payment scheduling, and provides planning and forecasting for payment outflows. The director also leads the accounts payable staff, maintains accurate financial records, prepares reports, reconciles accounts, and maintains relationships with internal business areas and external vendors.
Qualifications: a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and several years of accounts payable experience; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure.
Description:
Hands-on management and oversight of the accounts payable department with timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports
Own corporate card programs as administrator and manage related policies
Develop and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations
Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with procurement, accounting, and finance to ensure timely payment of invoices
Work with Procurement to transition invoicing and pay terms on renewals and new contracts; manage vendor lifecycle relationships
Proactively manage vendor relationships and resolve payment or invoice issues
Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging, cash flow projections, and vendor performance
Train and develop accounts payable staff with performance goals and evaluations
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close for accounts payable
Partner with Accounting on monthly close and provide visibility on vendor invoice payment timings
Collaborate with Tax on whether sales tax applies to payments
Assist with audits and provide documentation and support as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts payable or related field
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (SAP/S4Hana)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in managing a team of accounts payable professionals
Experience in process improvement and implementing best practices
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
Professional certification such as CAPA or CAPP is a plus

The compensation range for this role is $135,000 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.
