Overview
Legislative Assistant I - CRM Lead - Legislative Research Commission (Part-Time) – Commonwealth of Kentucky. This nonpartisan position in the Legislative Services Department supports the Kentucky General Assembly and requires the ability to work with neutrality in a politically charged environment. This is a permanent part-time role with benefits including health and life insurance; retirement plan; and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days. Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with prior approval. Responsibilities
Make travel arrangements for members and assist in the preparation and submission of post-travel documentation for expense reimbursement. Schedule legislative appointments and maintain legislators’ calendar and brief them on their schedule. Prepare and compose letters and other documents. Request and produce certificates of recognition. Interact with constituents, other legislators, lobbyists, and other local and state agencies. Answer the telephone and record accurate messages and relay the message in a timely manner. Assist members in carrying out their legislative duties without regard to political affiliation or philosophy. Perform other duties as assigned. CRM Lead Criteria
Establish regular meetings with users to discuss changes, feedback, and best practices within CRM. Communicate with Legislative Services Program & CRM Staff Support Coordinator when content is needed. Demonstrate mastery of core CRM functions: add and edit contacts, sending content, processing constituent requests and opinion messages. Act as first-call for LAs with CRM questions. Collaborate with Legislative Services Program & CRM Staff Support Coordinator on needed trainings, communications, and improvements to the application. Desired Skills And Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills with knowledge of Windows Office products, or demonstrated ability to learn Windows Office products. Outstanding organizational skills. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED; associate’s degree preferred EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year working as an administrative or personal assistant in a professional or government office. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
