Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. The Marketing Associate (Social Media/Web Specialist) works under the direction of the Director of Strategic Communication and with the web coordinator and Community Relations team to meet campus marketing and communications objectives. This role expands the social media footprint, creates content, conducts social listening, tracks metrics, and analyzes results. It also supports cross-functional content application to the website and other digital channels, plans campaigns to support strategic priorities, and aligns content to engage key constituents while promoting multi-media and new media to deliver UICOMP messaging. The role includes content updates and maintenance of the UICOMP website. Duties & Responsibilities

Develops and implements a quantifiable social media footprint in alignment with the marketing and communications strategy. Tracks and reports on social media metrics, engagement, and impact; advises on strategy adjustments for various audiences; evaluates outcomes and recommends changes in approach, channel, or process. Develops, edits, schedules and posts content across social platforms; manages assets; ensures information and graphics are accurate and current. Develops and manages project timelines. Monitors social channels, engages in social listening, and reports findings while supporting the social media/marketing strategy. Evaluates potential crises and responds appropriately; cross-trains to support content coordination and updates on other channels. Assists with design and maintenance of secure web pages using the UICOMP Content Management System; maintains brand and style standards; assists with layouts, graphics, and formatting for responsive design. Maintains site appearance and edits content per modern standards. Provides or assists with design and implementation of web templates and electronic forms; assists with CMS editing and page creation per University style and standards. Establishes and grows relationships with UICOMP community including alumni, donors, learners, campus groups, faculty and staff to promote engagement through social/digital media. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Assists with development and deployment of multi-media messaging (e.g., social media, digital advertising, video content, podcast, blog or vlog) and participates in integrated marketing efforts involving multi-media messaging across social media and web channels. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related area. Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization may be required. Note: Master’s Degree in a relevant area may be substituted for one year of work experience. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of and skill in multiple media platforms. Solid understanding of design elements and ability to create visually strong materials. Understanding of photography/videography and basic editing. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other design tools. Knowledge of digital accessibility and techniques to remediate content for accessibility. Strong communication skills. Ability to identify potential crises/reputational issues on social media. Ability to meet deadlines on a budget. To Apply
