RB Royal, a family owned and operated manufacturing business located in Fond du Lac, WI, is looking to hire a Machinist/Programmer. Our machining department is expanding, and we’re looking for a driven, technically skilled Machinist/Programmer to take the next step in their career and lead our machining team.

Hours Monday thru Thursday: 5:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-1:00am

Overview As a Machinist/Programmer, you will set up and operate CNC and non-CNC screw machines, including multi-spindle and single-spindle machines, to perform turning, boring, threading, and facing operations on metal bar stock. You’ll interpret blueprints, plan sequences of operations, and ensure parts meet exact specifications. This role is ideal for someone seeking to grow into a leadership position within our machining department while contributing to efficiency, quality, and team development.

Core Responsibilities

Study blueprints and visualize machining operations, part dimensions, and tolerances.

Plan machine sequences for optimal efficiency and tool use.

Set up collets, bushings, stock pushers, and tooling, and adjust cams, gears, and stops as needed.

Position and secure tools, verifying alignment with gauges and measuring instruments.

Set cutting speeds and feed rates; monitor machines through cycles and make adjustments for timing, clearance, and chip removal.

Inspect first-run and sample parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers, plug and ring gauges, and other tools.

Program and operate CNC lathes, including older Fanuc controllers on Tsugami and Miyano machines.

Operate and maintain non-CNC screw machines, including Brown & Sharp and machines with updated servo cams.

Utilize CAD/CAM software for programming and process planning.

Mentor and support other machinists, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Lead the machining department as you grow into a leadership role.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior manufacturing or machining experience required.

Working knowledge of Brown & Sharp and other non-CNC screw machines.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.

Strong math skills and measurement skills (calipers, tape measures).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating instructions, and safety procedures.

Basic computer skills.

Physically able to stand for a 10-hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Excellent attendance and a willingness to learn.

Ambitious and process-oriented with a desire to step into a leadership role.

Strong technical and leadership abilities; eager to help build and lead a team of skilled machinists.
