Overview
FT RN - Sexual Assault Examiner - St Peters Health Partners role at St. Peter's Health Partners.
The Forensic Examiner Program is seeking a RN who will work full time M-F to support the program. The ideal candidate brings a positive outlook and excitement for the field of forensic nursing. The candidate will be an experienced SANE nurse who responds to all patients of violence when in the on-call role including: Sexual Assaults-adult and pediatric, Domestic Violence, Physical Assault, Elder Abuse, Human Trafficking and Workplace Violence. The nurse will work collaboratively with the current full time office staff to grow awareness about services offered. Tasks include evidence management, peer review, patient follow up and assisting with SANE trainings. Cross coverage for other office staff is required. Minimum on-call commitment includes one 24 hour day per week, one weekend per month and a shared responsibility of holidays (usually one per calendar year). BSN not required but preferred. NYSAFE, SANE-A, SANE-P preferred.
Responsibilities
Support the Forensic Examiner Program as a full-time RN (M-F).
Respond in on-call roles to patients of violence, including adult and pediatric sexual assaults, domestic violence, physical assault, elder abuse, human trafficking, and workplace violence.
Collaborate with office staff to grow awareness of services offered.
Manage evidence, participate in peer review, follow up with patients, and assist with SANE trainings.
Provide cross-coverage for other office staff as required.
Maintain on-call commitments: one 24-hour day per week, one weekend per month, and holidays (usually one per calendar year).
Qualifications
Valid NYS RN license
ASN; BSN preferred
SANE Education completion, preferred
Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $36.50 - $49.95 per hour.
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
