Legal Assistant – Medical Negligence & General Liability Defense
at a downtown Denver law firm specializing in medical negligence and general liability defense. This role provides critical administrative support to attorneys and paralegals and helps maintain efficient legal operations. Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional client service through professional communication, scheduling, and meeting coordination Provide proactive administrative support to attorneys and paralegals Draft and file litigation-related documents, motions, and pleadings Maintain organized electronic client files and manage document workflows Schedule court appearances, depositions, and client meetings; monitor deadlines and avoid conflicts Prepare correspondence and legal memoranda in accordance with firm standards Interact professionally with court personnel, attorneys, and staff Manage attorney calendars and coordinate case preparation Process mail, payments, and reimbursements Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong attention to detail Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a defense litigation firm, preferably in medical malpractice Post-secondary education or legal coursework preferred Familiarity with local, state, and federal court systems, including Colorado and ideally New Mexico Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), billing software, and online document management systems Skilled in electronic filing procedures and Outlook calendar management Typing speed of at least 65 WPM Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills Direct Hire Employment Details
Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Mon - Fri Salary range: $60,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience Annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance $200 parking stipend Paid Sick Leave where applicable by State law PTO: two weeks per year Paid Holidays Medical/Dental/Vision: United Healthcare, 60/40 coverage for employee 401(k) plan: employee contributions only Benefits & Coverage
