School Secretary III - Washington Adult School
Washington Unified School District (WUSD) serves nearly 7,500 students in West Sacramento. As a senior high school secretary, the position involves a wide variety of clerical work, assisting the principal with routine administrative and clerical tasks, managing records, and coordinating school activities. Base pay range: $32.00/hr. Responsibilities
Perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties for a senior high school principal; answer inquiries about courses, activities, or programs, or refer to appropriate sources; schedule appointments with the principal. Take and transcribe dictation, including confidential material; type letters, reports, bulletins, memoranda, and other documents. Maintain time sheets for classified personnel; assist with attendance work as required; compose letters and information requests; receive, open, and route mail. Coordinate school and community activities; maintain active teacher correspondence and files; prepare reports; operate duplicating equipment. Maintain records and assist with data entry and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of records. Qualifications
Knowledge of office methods and practices, filing systems, receptionist and telephone techniques, and letter/report writing; English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; office machines and operation. Ability to interpret rules, laws, and policies; perform difficult clerical work with accuracy and speed; analyze situations and determine effective actions; perform arithmetical calculations quickly and accurately. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports; establish cooperative working relationships with children and adults; type at least 50 words per minute; take dictation at 100 words per minute with accurate transcription. Training/experience: any combination that provides required knowledge; typically four years of increasingly responsible clerical and stenographic experience with public contact. Physical Abilities
Prolonged typing and data entry; ability to sit for extended periods; visual and auditory abilities to perform job duties; ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds occasionally. Requirements for Application
