Overview

The Business Development / Key Account Manager Diagnostic is responsible for managing and developing long-term relationships with key clients in the Diagnostic & Life Science Industry, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and driving business growth. This role involves identifying and fostering strategic business relationships with existing customers while also developing new customer opportunities in collaboration with the sales team. You will take the lead in developing new business opportunities that support Optima’s overall growth strategy with focus in the Diagnostic & Life Science Industry. We are seeking a candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for sales, and a proven track record of success—someone who takes a hands-on approach to building business opportunities. You will work directly with the USA Sales Managers, along with the Diagnostic Sales and Business Development teams within Optima Pharma, to drive strategic growth in the diagnostic market. You will support the US Sales Team by ensuring alignment with sales objectives and contribute to the implementation of targeted business development initiatives. Additionally, you will collaborate with the international marketing and product management teams to ensure that market strategies, product positioning, and promotional efforts are tailored to meet the evolving needs of the diagnostic sector, ultimately helping the team achieve established sales goals and expand market share. These efforts will maximize Optima Pharma’s market presence and drive revenue growth. This position reports directly to the

Director of Sales . Core Duties and Responsibilities

Key Account Management & Client Relationship Building Develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention. Act as the primary liaison for key clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions. Map out key decision-makers and organizational structures to enhance engagement and collaboration. Conduct regular business reviews and meetings to assess client performance, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Business Development & Market Expansion Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within existing accounts while exploring potential partnerships. Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to support strategic decision-making. Develop and execute customized business strategies that align with Optima Pharma’s long-term growth initiatives. Foster collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services to key accounts. Industry & Product Expertise Maintain a deep understanding of Optima Pharma’s core competencies, technologies, and product offerings. Identify emerging market needs in the life sciences & diagnostics industries to support innovation and strategic planning. Provide insights and recommendations on market opportunities to internal stakeholders. Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal departments, including marketing, product management, and operations, to align key account strategies with company objectives. Support the development and implementation of business initiatives that drive efficiency and enhance customer experience. Actively contribute to internal discussions and planning efforts by providing client feedback and industry insights. Industry Engagement & Travel Represent Optima Pharma at industry events, trade shows, and professional associations to strengthen brand presence and build professional networks. Travel between 30% to 50%+ (domestic & international) to engage with key clients and industry stakeholders. Requirements

Experience:

Ideally, several years of experience in

business development ,

strategic sales ,

key account management , or

marketing

in the

diagnostic

or

life science

industry. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in

engineering, business, or a related field

(preferably in

Diagnostics & Life Science ). Client & Stakeholder Management:

Proven ability to build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key decision-makers at all levels within large organizations. Business Development Expertise:

Demonstrated success in identifying opportunities, developing new business, and fostering client partnerships. Strategic Thinking:

Ability to define, operationalize, and execute business strategies effectively. Communication & Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Organizational Skills:

Strong time management, prioritization, and scheduling abilities with attention to detail. Independent Work Capability:
