Lead Water / Wastewater Engineer

to join our full-service Design Center team in Tempe, AZ supporting municipal and industrial projects in Arizona and beyond. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer to expand project management skills in a friendly, flexible, collaborative environment. Project management experience is preferred.

Your Impact

Provide engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, and wastewater collection and treatment systems, including pump/lift stations, wells, chemical feed systems, and storage reservoirs.

Develop engineering studies, design reports, construction documents, and construction oversight/administration related to water/wastewater infrastructure in municipal and industrial markets.

Develop scope, costs, budgets, and schedules for studies, design, and construction services related to water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant works.

Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems.

Set up and perform hydraulic modeling for water and sewer systems.

Collaborate with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc.; CAD experience is a plus.

Check design computations and quantity estimates.

Assist in client contact and communications pertaining to specific projects.

Occasional field work and travel to project sites may be required (approximately 5% overnight travel).

Provide mentorship to junior staff.

Who You Are Required Qualifications

BS degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field (MS a plus).

PE required; AZ PE preferred.

10+ years of relevant experience.

Proven engineering experience in multi-disciplinary water/wastewater projects with client interaction.

Proficiency in detailed designs of water and wastewater systems.

Successful project delivery with respect to scope, schedule, quality, and budget.

Ability to take on project management responsibilities; PM experience is a plus.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple assignments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate meetings and client presentations and prepare reports.

Self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed to quality work.

Ability and willingness to travel for client meetings or project field sites (approximately 5% overnight).

Must pass background check and have a satisfactory driving record per company policy.
