RS&H is seeking a Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our Environmental Stewardship and Resilience (ESR) team in the western United States (hybrid or remote in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Denver). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to sustainability and resilience planning, permitting, and consulting services for Aviation, Transportation, Municipal, and private clients nationally. The selected individual will help identify and incorporate sustainability measures to make projects more resilient to changing conditions. As a member of the ESR group, the consultant will mentor mid- and junior-level staff and provide direct support for ESR activities, project pursuits, and project delivery firmwide.
Responsibilities
Mentor mid- and junior-level consultants; provide guidance on ESR activities, project pursuits, and project delivery.
Provide environmental stewardship, sustainability, and resilience planning, permitting, and consulting services to aviation, transportation, municipal, and private clients nationally.
Identify and integrate sustainability measures and resilience strategies into client infrastructure and operations.
Support business development and client engagement as part of a practice-wide team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program.
Minimum 15 years of applicable consulting experience.
Ability to mentor and guide junior consultants.
Requires an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental sciences / natural resources, environmental engineering, planning or related field.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint) and ESRI ArcGIS software.
Ability to work in an independent but collaborative team environment and be highly responsive to client deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
ENVISION Sustainability Professional (ENV SP).
Certifications or registrations such as C.E.P., C.E., PE (Civil/Environmental), or PG, as applicable.
Understanding of NEPA documentation for improvement projects is a plus.
Salary and Location Typical salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $160,000 - $200,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
