Your Opportunity Join a best-in-class team. We are seeking an HR Business Partner to support leaders and employees in the US South region as part of the HR Client Services (HRCS) team.

You will wear several hats: trusted advisor, strategist, consultant, analyst, change agent, and coach. You will collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement strategies that support people and organizational needs and facilitate the deployment of our HR Strategic Plan. You will engage in business conversations, influence, and equip people leaders to lead their teams and foster a highly engaged, inclusive workplace.

Your Key Responsibilities

Quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal client groups, including employees, managers, and senior leaders.

Proactively partner with clients to identify strategic issues, workforce planning or organizational design challenges and provide advice to develop creative solutions.

Provide strategic guidance and scale the application of HR generalist disciplines, including employee engagement, retention and talent development, succession planning, change and conflict management, employment legislation, employee relations, performance management, investigations, job evaluation, compensation management, internal communication, coaching, data analytics, workforce planning, policy interpretation, career coaching, facilitation, and inclusion & diversity to positively impact culture and safety.

Serve as a workforce champion and promote a positive work environment and employee experience.

Facilitate trainings as needed and enable performance management and planning sessions with managers and employees.

Practice effective relationship management with internal client groups and our global HR specialists.

Develop and implement HR-related projects and participate as a team member on special projects as needed.

Foster a continuous improvement mindset and seek opportunities to increase the ROI of HR programs.

Collaborate within the HR team to communicate, facilitate, and/or present HR programs and initiatives to client groups.

Work with HR service representatives to ensure accurate completion of ad-hoc employee changes.

Assist with relevant HR administrative tasks as required.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Demonstrated experience operating independently to resolve routine HR issues in a large and changing environment.

Ability to quickly establish and build effective working relationships.

Proven influencer and collaborator, with the ability to guide and support business clients.

Skills in coaching managers, facilitation, conflict resolution and relationship management.

Agility to manage multiple priorities with action-oriented, results-focused thinking.

Strong organizational and time management skills balancing strategic and operational tasks.

Comprehensive understanding of core HR competencies including compensation, benefits, employment law, organizational development, talent development and training, mentoring/coaching/facilitation, recruitment and workforce planning, and HR policies.

Adaptability to rapidly changing demands; experience in a geographically dispersed team is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and ability to influence a broad and diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong learning mindset, initiative, and ability to understand business challenges and apply innovative HR approaches.

Commitment to continual personal development and keeping current with HR best practices.

Ability to travel to other Stantec offices as needed.

Proficient MS Office Suite skills preferred.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or related field.

Minimum of five years of related work experience.

SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.

Additional Information Typical office environment; sedentary work for long periods.

Pay Transparency Pay ranges are provided where required by pay transparency laws. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles may be bonus eligible. Part-time roles will be pro-rated based on hours.
