The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is recruiting for a
GIS Data Specialist (IS Systems Data Services Specialist)
to support and lead complex GIS strategies for sharing and deploying GIS data. The GIS Unit supports enterprise GIS deployments and staff across the Department. This full-time permanent position is based at Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison, WI, with the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week. All employees are generally expected to be headquartered within the State of Wisconsin. The position will require in-office presence for training, meetings, and operational needs, discussed at interview. Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical leadership and system support as a GIS Data Specialist for the GIS Unit serving WisDOT. Support WisDOT’s diverse GIS staff and promote the use of distributed GIS data concepts, methodologies, and policies. Offer expertise in GIS data across multiple software platforms, development environments, and architectures (e.g., ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, enterprise geodatabases). Provide technical support for agency GIS data repositories, workflows, and ETL processes. Aid in the development, implementation, testing, and administration of agency enterprise geodatabases and ArcGIS Enterprise and cloud ArcGIS Online data stores. Promote policies and standards related to the use and governance of agency geodatabases, GIS data, metadata, and provide end-user support for procedures and data-sharing strategies. Salary and Benefits
This position is in schedule-range (07-33) with an annual salary of
$83,200 - $110,240
(or
$40 - $53 per hour ), plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set per the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates must detail having experience in all of the following
