The primary responsibility of this position is to support Concordia University and the Business Office Team by performing accounting, reconciling, and reporting assignments in accordance with sound accounting practices and principles. This position will assist in identifying opportunities to better track and report information and to assist in completion of goals of the Business Office Team. Must be 19 years old to apply. This is a part-time position. Responsibilities

Prepare and review vouchers, journal entries, and fund transfers ensuring University policies are adhered to and authorizations are documented. Communicate with University personnel to perfect submittal of requests to the Business Office. Coordinate and process payments and refunds accurately and timely. Process daily deposits via Remote Bank Deposit platform and maintain responsibility for daily banking transactions to include associated journal voucher entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts, researching discrepancies to maintain the General Ledger in balance. Invoice vendors for University miscellaneous Accounts Receivable and determine if Sales Tax is applicable. Prepare and file Sales Tax and Unclaimed Property returns with the state of Nebraska and other states as needed. Develop online registration and payment sites for various departments and reconcile accounts. Actively engage in maximizing the benefits available to the University by these sites and provide recommendations for improved performance and alternate payment methods. Serve as backup to the Accounts Payable Clerk for Purchase Card oversight and Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable deposits. Collaborate with Business Office Team to report financial position of the University to management by preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries in the General Ledger. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education: Associates degree in accounting or business, with two (2) or more years relevant accounting experience. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience with financial transactions, reconciliation and accounts payable/receivable preferred. Proficiencies: Proficiency in use of software applications including Microsoft applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing required. Proficient mathematical and communication skills.
