Overview

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial reporting for Select Industries and general accounting for Norms Restaurants, LLC. The Senior Accountant ensures timely cash and account reconciliations, and prepares sales tax payments and returns where applicable, financial statements for Select Industries, reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, and period-end journal entries for Norms Restaurants, LLC. Duties & Responsibilities

Ensuring day-to-day transactions such as cash receipts and disbursements, accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and healthcare invoices are recorded properly. Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Review and record weekly payroll transfers and period-end payroll journal entries. Reconcile payroll checking account and employee advance account. Distribute periodic PR GL details to payroll department and assist with stopping payments. Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between Norms Restaurants and Select Industries. Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition, including tracking restaurant sales and operational costs. Review and compare inventories between Select Industries and the warehouse and create accounting entries as needed. Perform fiscal year-end close activities and assist with activities and requirements of external auditors. Record weekly miscellaneous checks deposits for Norms Restaurants, LLC and Select Industries, LLC. Research with all departments into account appropriateness. Communicate regularly with the Director of Finance. Continually seek and implement opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology, including training accounting staff to better utilize financial and accounting software. Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements. Education and Training

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field is a plus. Master’s degree and/or CPA certification a plus. Experience

5 years in financial management and accounting, preferably in a restaurant company or hospitality industry. Skills and Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) with expertise in Excel required. Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. Proficiency and hands-on experience with financial management software (e.g., Rosnet, Sage Intacct) is a plus. Superior data management and data analysis skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy. Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain financial terms in simple language. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the organization’s mission. Physical requirements

This position requires sitting (90%), standing (5%), and walking (5%). It requires computer work involving extensive use of keyboard, mouse, and monitor; and occasionally requires lifting materials of ~20 lbs. Equal Opportunity Employer
