Title : Risk Manager I
(this is NOT a Security Role)
Summary : The Risk Manager is responsible for the facility or assigned area’s risk management activities in a ambulatory doctor’s office setting.
Traveling : Some traveling from site to site across Central FL, East to West Coast.

Responsibilities
Administers the risk management plan on a day‑to‑day basis.
Manages and analyzes risk management data.
Conducts risk management educational programs.
Complies with risk management standards set by the Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies to enhance patient safety and minimize loss.
Maintains reliable attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Develops, coordinates, and administers facility or area‑wide systems for risk identification, investigation, and reduction; performs risk surveys, inspects patient care areas, and reviews loss potential.
Provides proactive analysis of patient safety and medical errors processes.
Facilitates root‑cause analysis investigations and reporting of adverse events and sentinel events.
Participates on committees focused on promoting patient safety issues.
Complies with codes, laws, and regulations concerning patient care, including incident reporting and enforcement activities by federal, state, and local authorities.
Maintains awareness and communication of legislative and regulatory activities related to health‑care risk management.
Collects, evaluates, and distributes patient injury data, aggregate summaries, and monthly trend analyses of incidents and sentinel events trends; provides aggregate risk data analysis and maintains statistical trends.
Informs administrators and department managers of risk findings and provides feedback to eliminate risks; assists clinical chiefs and department managers in designing risk management programs within their departments.
Provides in‑service training to hospital personnel to enhance awareness of risk reduction.
Responds to professional liability and facility questions posed by physicians, nurses, and other personnel.
Receives and investigates product problem reports to determine appropriate response to federal, state, or manufacturer requirements.
Participates in the disclosure process for medical errors.
Participates in on‑call responsibilities.
Mentors new team members in Risk Management activities and coordinates educational in‑services.
Cross‑trained in multiple areas of Risk Management.
Participates in and leads projects.
Qualifications
Education/Training : Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare.
Experience : Two (2) years of clinical or medical legal experience.
Skills : Advanced PC literacy required.
