The Front of House Supervisor is responsible for meeting or exceeding standards of quality, productivity, and customer service in all dining rooms according to property policies and procedures. They lead staff, hire and evaluate personnel, coordinate scheduling, monitor performance, and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding staff actions. Responsibilities
Supervise the service of meals to ensure maximum resident enjoyment and consistent, efficient dining room service. Assist residents and servers in meal service areas (salads, soups, entrees, beverages, desserts, etc.) as necessary. Ensure the dining room POS system operates efficiently; troubleshoot issues and train staff on system usage. Maintain proper serving techniques and etiquette; manage dining room and kitchen-side cleaning and side work assignments. Chart and assign dining room sections for wait staff as needed; ensure proper setup of dining tables and stations with utensils, chinaware, glassware, and condiments. Bus tables, clear dishes, clean tables and chairs after meals, and perform floor care as needed. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and clutter-free work environment at all times. Participate in discussions to identify concerns and reinforce residents’ ability to live independently and age in place gracefully. Participate in resident orientation programs and build professional relationships with residents; support transitions during meal times to promote engagement. Assist with planning of food items for activities, marketing, and special events as requested. Qualifications
Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or other education in food service/management is preferred. Prefer one (1) year of experience in a restaurant or similar environment. Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees. Able to safely operate standard household equipment and a personal computer; proficient in MS Office programs. Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care, or ability to learn. Able to work with seniors and interact with cognitively impaired individuals. Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to change; able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure. Able to analyze, solve, and respond to problems or concerns. Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid certification and Food Handler’s certification, as needed. Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening, including COVID-19 PCR within 72 hours of start date.
