Overview
Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a motivated and dynamic advanced practice provider to join its critical care, trauma surgery, and general surgery team at Memorial Regional Hospital, the only Level 1 Trauma Center in South Broward County. The position entails taking care of the acute care surgery and trauma patients. The selected candidate will partner with an experienced team of providers with the assessment and management of adult, adolescent, and pediatric trauma patients as well as the adult and adolescent acute care surgery patients. The position also involves critical care management of patients in the surgical ICU in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment. The incumbent will be expected to perform operative and bedside procedures. Interest and participation in research are strongly encouraged. Schedule requirements will alternate between day and night shift and include weekend coverage. Responsibilities
Provide care for acute care surgery and trauma patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. Assess and manage adult, adolescent, and pediatric trauma patients and adult/adolescent acute care surgery patients. Manage critically ill surgical patients in the surgical ICU in a fast-paced environment. Perform operative and bedside procedures as required. Engage in research activities when possible. Adhere to schedule requirements including day/evening shifts and weekend coverage. Qualifications
Advanced Practice Provider with experience in critical care or surgery is advantageous. National Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Certification. Pediatric Acute Care Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) from the American College of Surgeons. Florida license must be obtained by the date of hire. Benefits and Employment
