Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Fire Protection Inspector to join our team in Freehold, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire suppression systems and fire alarms. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in fire safety standards and regulations to ensure the highest level of protection for our clients.
Responsibilities
Inspect, test, and routine maintenance of: Fire Alarm systems, Wet and Dry Fire Sprinkler systems, Deluge and Standpipe systems; Fire Pumps, Hoses, & Hydrants; Backflow Devices, Pre-Action Systems, Special Hazard Systems, Fire Extinguishers and Emergency Lights
Visual and functional testing on sprinkler risers and field devices in accordance with national and local standards
Maintain accurate documentation on tablet of all tests performed
Complete all required paperwork via tablet such as inspection reports, work orders, time sheets daily
Communicate deficiencies and service requirements with customer and inspection manager
3 to 5 years of experience preferred
Hourly rate will be based on experience
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license
Tablet and Apple IOS experience required
Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, devices and critical components, and/or fire alarms and ability to perform testing and maintenance of systems
Backflow certification will be required- will provide training
Familiarity with hand and power tools
Capable of working independently with moderate supervision
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to handle physical workload to include carrying and moving equipment and tools, unusual and difficult positions, climbing ladders
Familiarity with NFPA 25 &72 (National Fire Protection Association) and local codes
Wage Range: $40,000-$73,000 dependent on experience
