Responsibilities
Monitor AMI reports to detect and respond to issues such as tampering, communication failures, and zero-usage alarms. Analyze and validate automated meter readings for accuracy. Generate and track work orders for communication issues, billing requests, and customer account investigations. Conduct audits of meter data and support asset verification in the billing system. Collaborate with field crews, billing teams, and water development staff to ensure accurate meter mapping and service records. Review GIS and utility maps to confirm the location of meter-related infrastructure. Track warranty and lifecycle data on meters and issue proactive replacement or meter investigation work orders. Participate in training new staff and support special projects involving meter data and customer analytics.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in accounting, finance, or related fields. One (1) year of directly related technical accounting experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AMI systems, especially RNI and MDMS platforms. Familiarity with systems like AS400 billing, ArcGIS, CRM, Maximo, or other asset/work order management platforms. Strong background in QA/QC, meter read validation, and understanding meter reading cycles. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and utility maps. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus!
