Overview
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at California State University, Monterey Bay invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level to begin in Fall 2026. We seek applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research. Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in applied mathematics, computational mathematics, and/or data science. (e.g. applied modeling, machine learning, optimization, statistics/data ethics, etc.). Develop or expand curriculum offerings in data science and/or applied mathematics. Maintain an active research program, ideally involving undergraduate student engagement. Contribute to mentoring, advising, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds. Participate in departmental, college, and university service. Collaborate across disciplines and with local industry or community partners as appropriate.
