Position responsible for the management and marketing activities for a sales region of multiple states for a select customer base to achieve required growth and meet sales objectives. Responsibilities include selling Can Liners, PVC Food Film, Disposable Gloves, Paper Bags, Carry Out Bags, Food Storage Bags and other associated items; managing manufacturer representative and direct sales teams; executing strategic plans; and annual planning and budgeting. Responsibilities
Educate, train, and work with distributor sales representatives on product lines and policies. Demonstrate master knowledge of product lines, policies, systems, and competitive environment. Call on end-user accounts and provide timely response to distributor requests. Prepare and analyze reports for sales management regarding distributor and direct buying customers in the assigned territory or market segment. Set up requests for competitive pricing, public bids, and special price quotes. Develop, maintain, and service Inteplast's relationships with the customer base. Serve as a liaison between Inteplast and the distributor. Manage manufacturer representative groups within the assigned territory, including selection, training, scheduling, appraising performance, and compensation. Manage activities of select key accounts within the territory including existing account maintenance, new client generation, strategic planning, and marketing. Assist in the development of regional plans and identify prospective customers through industry networking and participation in trade shows and conferences. Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain features, and solicit orders. Identify new opportunities based on industry trends and customer needs; create selling and product strategy accordingly. Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and provide ongoing support. Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings; attend regional and national trade shows. Manage national buying group relationships and programs; handle special projects as assigned by the business unit. Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in distribution sales, ideally with customers in foodservice and/or lodging industry. Proven track record of positive customer relationships and sales growth. BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, business or related field. Preferred: Prior experience within the plastics and/or paper industry. Strong communication skills and ability to speak in front of groups; bi-lingual preferred. Able to use critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches, solutions, and problem solve. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and good time-management. Ability to travel by plane or car with a valid driver’s license. Collaboration/team player; ensure consistent, dependable attendance and willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions. Work Environment
This position involves 50 to 60% travel, with a willingness to travel throughout the United States to attend meetings with customers/prospects and sales functions such as trade shows. Employer Information
