Overview

Title IX Coordinator and Compliance Officer for Inside Higher Ed. The role reports to the Director of Human Resources and is based in Kentucky State University context, with responsibilities spanning Title IX compliance, investigations, training, and policy implementation. Employment type: Full-Time, Exempt; Standard work hours: 37.5 hours per week; Classification: Staff-12 months; Effective date: TBD. Responsibilities

Develops, oversees, and maintains processes for receiving all Title IX complaints and reports of sexual harassment, sexual violence, and related misconduct; keeps affected parties apprised of complaint status; ensures investigations are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential, and impartial; manages cases in compliance with Title IX and Clery requirements. Oversees Title IX investigations, responses, and resolutions; coordinates with investigators on proposed sanctions to ensure responses stop misconduct and prevent recurrence; collaborates with the General Counsel as custodian of Title IX records and related materials; safeguards confidentiality. Collaborates with Title IX staff to ensure informed and consistent policy implementation; provides oversight of investigations and grievance procedures. Delivers educational programs on discrimination and sexual harassment prevention; prepares and disseminates educational materials; conducts training to promote knowledge of institutional policies and federal/state standards. Works with other departments to ensure Title IX policy communication to all constituencies; supports a safe and respectful campus environment. Monitors, audits, and oversees compliance of University policies and procedures to satisfy federal/state obligations (Title IX, VAWA, Campus SaVE, ADA/Section 504, Clery Act, OSHA, Title VII); maintains documentation of compliance efforts. Monitors environmental, health, and safety policy standards; serves as a resource in EHS matters. Recommends solutions to identified areas of compliance exposure and reviews implementation as applicable. Acts as the Operational Guide repository, facilitating approved changes and communicating updates. Collaborates with General Counsel’s office, Human Resources, Student Affairs, Athletics, and Campus Police. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience as a collaborative, agile leader with understanding of the complexities of the student demographic. Ability to oversee employees and the investigative process; high-quality writing and neutrality under stress. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to listen, respect diverse needs, and work within a university-wide community to resolve complaints neutrally. Ability to establish professional working relationships with staff at all levels; ability to read and interpret complex legal documents to evaluate impact on policy. Ability to identify compliance exposure and oversee solution implementation where applicable. Supervisory Responsibility

This position does have supervisory responsibility. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in higher education administration or a related field, plus at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership roles in higher education or related fields, and experience training and developing staff.
