Kforce is looking for a Cost Accountant on a permanent basis in Belvidere, IL. Duties include: Cost Accountant will partner closely with the Plant Controller to support financial operations Perform cost accounting functions including COGS analysis and BOM reviews Assist with month-end close activities including preparation of financial packets and journal entries Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data Manage item setup for new products, including BOM and costing details Generate and analyze shrink and variance reports to identify usage issues Collaborate with operators and supervisors to investigate and resolve cost discrepancies Serve as a resource for training and process improvement across the plant Work onsite to maintain close alignment with manufacturing operations and cost drivers Support budgeting processes and respond to ad hoc financial requests Review, clean, and update ERP data to ensure system accuracy and readiness for future conversion Requirements
Prior experience in manufacturing cost accounting Strong understanding of COGS, BOMs, and cost structures Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Exposure to ERP conversions is a plus Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros); Familiarity with Power BI, Essbase, and Hyperion preferred Ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn quickly Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Notes
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
