Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $106,000.00/yr Position Description Eco-Cycle\'s Zero Waste Hauling (ZWH) Operations & Fleet Manager works within the ZWH unit, which provides collection services to commercial clients throughout Boulder County using a fleet that includes diesel, CNG, and battery-electric vehicles. The ZWH team collaborates with the Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM). These two social enterprises share resources, staff and workflows to ensure efficient and productive operations. Responsibilities Oversee and manage daily activities of all drivers and field staff (8–10 employees), ensuring they have the tools required to safely complete their work. Coordinate with other ZWH staff to ensure daily hauling plans are produced, assigned, and dispatched. Coordinate with the CHaRM Operations Manager on inbound and outbound loads; ensure routes are completed on time. Manage, oversee, and coordinate fleet maintenance and repairs for a fleet of 12 commercial vehicles (diesel, CNG, and battery-electric). Facilitate periodic service and repairs on rolling stock and equipment; maintain service/repair records and DOT compliance. Oversee supplies management (PPE, tools, consumables) and inventory control for dumpsters, toters, compactors, balers, and roll-off containers. Track field staff activities, including material production and received materials; assist with staff scheduling for coverage across the two enterprises. Identify and plan special projects (vehicle/equipment procurement, facility improvements, equipment upgrades) with the Director. Utilize various software systems to support operations and evaluate workflow improvements with emphasis on safety. Work with suppliers, vendors, and clients to resolve service issues and modify services as needed. Serve as a back-up driver (non-CDL vehicles) to cover vacations or emergencies, as needed. Qualifications & Competencies Strong experience in recycling/composting/Zero Waste and sustainable materials; active interest in expanding these efforts in the business sector. Fleet management experience with DOT compliance; knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanics and regulations. Mechanical aptitude with a variety of tools and equipment; experience with trucks and trailers; driver/trailer operation experience. Class B CDL or successful acquisition during the first year of employment; clean driving record with no DUI/DWI in the past 5 years. Flexibility and a proactive, can-do attitude; comfortable working with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment; ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lb. Knowledge of Boulder County and Northern Front Range geography; willingness to work occasional overtime.
