Summary:
The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities Develop repeatable and reproducible test methods on optical measurement equipment (Keyence automated inspection routines).
Design and create inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
Execute test method validations (Gage R&R) with Receiving Inspection personnel.
Create test method procedures, and train and provide engineering support to Receiving Inspection on component test methods.
Provide feedback to R&D and Design Assurance on test method measurement output and ability to measure and validate critical features on drawings.
Create test method validation protocol and report documents.
Skills Proficient knowledge of test method development and validation.
Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
Experience with Class II and/or Class III medical devices.
Experience with vision system automated inspection routine creation.
Experience with SolidWorks and 3D printing.
Strong understanding of statistical techniques for new product development and Minitab.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
5-7 years experience required.
