Job Details
  • 26 Acute Care Beds (incl. 4 acuity adj. beds ICU/PCU)
  • NO ICU
  • EMR: Epic
  • No required procedures
  • Codes/Rapid Response handled by ED physicians
Staffing Model:
  • 12-hour shift, (7a-7p, 7p-7a)
  • 7 on/7off schedule
  • Days: 1 MD
  • Nights: 1 MD Tele support for admissions & floor call
Physician Qualifications:
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Internal or Family Medicine
  • Be within 7 years of graduation
  • Or 2 years prior hospitalist experience
NP/PA Qualifications:
  • Board Certified as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • 2 years prior hospitalist experience

Facility Information
Smyth County Community Hospital, includes a 44-bed acute care hospital, a 109-bed nursing care facility, and a variety of outreach programs. There are more than 50 physicians serving on its active medical staff. The hospital offers surgical services, rehabilitation services, women's services, emergency services, cardio-pulmonary services, most acute care including home health, skilled nursing and long-term care. Other services include a diagnostic sleep center, cardio/pulmonary rehabilitation and an inpatient rehabilitation unit. Smyth County Community Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission.
