Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Family Medicine
Location: Hot Springs, South Dakota
Position Type: Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Experience: 1+ year of clinical or primary care experience preferred
Position Overview
Seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a Family Medicine practice in Hot Springs, SD. The APP will provide comprehensive primary care services across all age groups in a supportive outpatient setting. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide outpatient primary care to patients of all ages.
•Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
•Perform comprehensive health assessments, preventive screenings, and wellness exams.
•Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans.
•Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care.
•Offer patient education and counseling on health maintenance and disease prevention.
•Collaborate with supervising physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
•Participate in practice call rotation as required.
•May perform minor office-based procedures within scope of practice.
•Complete accurate and timely documentation according to policy and regulatory standards.
•Refer or transfer patients appropriately based on clinical needs.
•Respond effectively to urgent or emergent situations as needed.
Qualifications
Required (South Dakota):
•Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
or
•Physician Assistant (PA) - South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners
Preferred:
•1+ year of clinical or family medicine experience
•Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
•Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care
Physical Requirements
•Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
