Responsibilities
- Perform cost analysis, identify and investigate accounting irregularities/abnormalities and report to management.
- Work collaboratively with Production Department to review monthly plant expenses.
- Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and the company accounting policies.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure balances are correct.
- Review accounts to resolve and understand unusual items and variances.
- Provide support and necessary documents for annual external audit.
- Assist Controller to develop improvements in internal policies, procedures, and processes.
- Liaise with information systems and technologies team to implement improvements to the accounting system.
- Prepare, review, and audit internal payment requests to ensure accurate and proper documentation.
- Support Controller on income and other tax filing requirements.
- Learn the basics of the accounts payable system and function.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports and analyses.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.

Qualifications
- Strong critical thinking skills and understanding of basic accounting concepts (e.g. debits and credits).
- High-level knowledge of US GAAP.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports.
- Comfortable preparing and delivering reports to management.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field AND 4 to 6 years of full-time accounting experience. CPA preferred.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), CRM and have experience with other analytical software tools.
