Accounting Manager Job at Ledgent in Sacramento

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of their accounting department. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, experience in payroll and benefits administration, and the ability to lead accounting functions in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare accurate financial statements and internal reports
• Process payroll for employees (internal and/or external workforce)
• Administer employee benefits programs, including 401(k) contributions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings
• Monitor client payments, cash accounts, and expense reporting
• Maintain internal accounting systems and organized digital records
• Coordinate with external CPAs or auditors during annual filings
• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll practices

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
