SALARY
The minimum salary is
$61,954.88 annually. This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours. Pay Grade 522

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to manage and oversee recreation activities and personnel for multiple programs and facilities.
This position is responsible for the daily operations at Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center (PMDAC) year-round and at Moondance Amphitheater seasonally. PMDAC responsibilities include supervising full-time and part-time staff in the operations of the Black Box Theater, four rehearsal and event spaces, a community art studio, curating and managing three visual arts galleries and gift shop, and oversight of programming at Phoenix Park seasonally. At Moondance, this position is responsible for booking and working with performers and managing concerts and other events May through October. Responsibilities include facility management and maintenance liaison, scheduling performers and artists, staff supervision and scheduling, fiscal oversite and cash handling, ticket sales, artist agreements and booking, artist recruiting and gallery agreements and installs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job such as arts administration, studio art, theater, or another related field
Four (4) years of related experience, in which at least two (2) years must be in a supervisory/management capacity in an area related to the position
Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
There are no substitutes for the required supervisory/management experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Creates, develops, implements, manages, and reports on center activities, rentals, budget and rental projections, marketing needs, services and activities
Curates and manages three galleries, including contracting of artists, installation and deinstallation of exhibits
Implements and manages programs at the PMDAC, Phoenix Parks and Moondance Amphitheatre and coordinates all aspects including booking of artists and performers, production needs, marketing, work orders, staffing, etc.
Evaluates effectiveness and safety of operations and services, and implements recommended changes and improvements
Interviews, hires, trains, schedules and supervises staff
Prepares and administers program budgets, projects costs and ensures compliance with funding; procures equipment, materials and supplies as needed
Responds to public inquiries, concerns and complaints; maintains relationship with diverse members of the public
Represents LFUCG, the division and/or their program at various internal and external meetings, public functions and events
Performs related work as assigned
Oversees facility management, cleaning and maintenance
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Valid Driver's License
Required within the first six (6) months of employment:
First Aid and CPR/AED Certification
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work flexible hours and/or weekends, holidays, perform on-call duty, and split shifts when required.
