Senior Bridge Engineer

GFT GFT is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge Practice. This position offers flexibility in a hybrid work environment, with the reporting office in any of GFT’s Maryland, Washington DC, or Virginia offices. What You’ll Be Challenged To Do
With a minimum of 12 years of progressive design experience in structural engineering for multiple types of bridges and structures to public clients. Responsibilities
Lead development of project design concepts and criteria and research large or complex project elements. Act as Design Team Leader on bridge design activities for complex structures. Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate large or complex engineering assignments. Collaborate with team members across disciplines such as highway, transit, geotechnical, civil/site and environmental. Develop proposals, scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for moderate‑complexity projects. Manage bridge/structure personnel and act as Project Manager for small to medium multi‑disciplinary bridge projects. Provide QA/QC reviews and supervise staff engineers and technical specialists. Maintain client satisfaction and support business development. Oversee multiple concurrent assignments, manage scope, budget, and schedule, and obtain necessary permits. Represent GFT at industry and professional events. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred). Professional Engineer License with ability to obtain multiple jurisdictions. 12+ years of applicable experience. Proficiency with MS Office, CADD, and structural design and analysis software. Preferred Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead client presentations. Prior supervision of staff. Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Compensation
The salary range for this role is $135,000 – $160,000, depending on experience and geographic location. Benefits
