Position Overview A globally‑known parks & resorts corporation is seeking a dynamic and highly strategic
Vice President, Public Relations & Communications
to lead national and local PR efforts across all brands and parks. This role is responsible for shaping and amplifying the company’s reputation, driving earned media growth, and managing proactive and reactive communications strategies that align with our brand voice and business priorities. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, strategist, and storyteller with proven experience in high‑profile consumer‑facing industries. Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead a comprehensive national and local PR strategy aligned with brand, marketing, and commercial objectives.
Partner with park marketing and PR teams to drive consistent storytelling, proactive pitching, and brand visibility.
Oversee all press releases, media alerts, key message frameworks, and amplification strategies to maximize earned media impact.
Lead the company’s reputation management strategy, ensuring proactive issue identification and rapid response execution.
Serve as a senior communications advisor to executives during crises, sensitive media inquiries, and reputation‑impacting events.
Coordinate with Legal, Corporate Marketing, and Park Communications teams to ensure accuracy, tone, and timeliness of all public statements.
Manage and elevate the performance of our national PR agency, setting KPIs and ensuring alignment with overall communication goals.
Cultivate strong media relationships across national, regional, and trade press to increase coverage share and narrative control.
Identify and execute high‑impact earned media opportunities across consumer, lifestyle, travel, and entertainment verticals.
Collaborate closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Park Marketing, Revenue Management, and Zoo teams to integrate PR with key commercial priorities.
Partner with Corporate Marketing to align PR storytelling with creative campaigns, social amplification, and brand reputation.
Lead cross‑functional communication efforts that drive engagement, visibility, and trust among internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or reputation management—ideally in consumer‑facing industries (hospitality, entertainment, travel, or retail).
Proven track record of delivering measurable earned media growth and managing complex communication programs.
Experience handling high‑profile crises, managing external agencies, and working closely with senior executives.
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
Strategic thinker with strong creative instincts and a hands‑on approach.
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines with poise and precision.
