NS226797 Consultant in Palliative Medicine (Part time) Applications are warmly welcomed to join a multidisciplinary team contributing to the provision of a comprehensive Specialist Palliative Care service for the people of Grampian and the Islands.

Position: Consultant in Palliative Medicine (Part time) Location: Roxburghe House, Aberdeen Reference: NS226797

Job Description:

Part‑time, 7‑Hour per Week (7PA) consultant post based at Roxburghe House.

May also involve provision of medical support to the Hospital Specialist Palliative Care Team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Provide specialist Palliative Care across the Grampian health board region, offering inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary services.

Provide education and training to health professionals at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Location:

Roxburghe House is the regional specialist Palliative Care unit situated within the Royal Cornhill Hospital grounds, adjacent to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Regional coverage includes Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.

Qualifications & Appointments:

Full registration with a licence to practice with the GMC is required prior to starting the post.

Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.

CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are eligible once registration is awarded.

International recognised specialist qualifications approved by GMC and with a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register are eligible.

Doctors not on the GMC Specialist Register may be considered for a locum consultant post up to 12 months.
