As a stress engineer on the

Mechanical Piping Team , this professional will function as a technical specialist or in a lead role. They will perform, verify, and direct others to perform piping stress analysis to ensure conformance to the applicable ASME B31 Pressure Piping Codes and associated ASME Standards, as well as client and jurisdictional requirements for pressure piping. This professional will also apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision. They may also start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas and provide mentoring and training to junior engineers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead design execution efforts, along with: Detailed stress analysis of both metallic and nonmetallic piping, evaluating conditions such as elevated temperature service, low temperature/cryogenic service, piping loads at sensitive equipment, pulsating service, flow-induced vibration, and transient loads. Coordinate work between domestic and international offices. Assign tasks to and coordinate with other internal/external team members on complex projects. Initiate contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work. Prepare purchase specifications and administer pipe support purchase order contracts with domestic and international suppliers. Prepare and qualify pipe support designs satisfying all code and project requirements. Understand client interests and drivers through client contact and interaction with project leadership, and apply this understanding to the work. Travel to job sites for walkdowns and hanger inspections for existing and new-build facilities. The Team

The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team that delivers high quality, on-time design and services projects in Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining, including everything mechanically related to Process and Power, from conventional to renewable projects, and specialized areas such as HVAC, Piping, and project performance estimating and testing. The Mechanical Piping design team specializes in piping design and stress analysis for mechanical systems. The U.S. based group has a staff of 30 professionals located in several locations, primarily in Raleigh, NC and the world headquarters in Overland Park, KS. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience relevant to pipe stress analysis and piping design. Technical depth in ASME B31.1 and B31.3, and related design guides and standards. Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sections I, II, III, and VIII. Working knowledge of AutoPIPE and Caesar II stress analysis software. Intermediate knowledge of API, ASTM, and AWWA. Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines, industry trends, quality program, constructability, and procurement/contract administration. Working knowledge of project controls and estimating processes. Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverables. Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program and a minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements as applicable by law, which may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search. Certifications

Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred, or in active pursuit of licensure. Work Environment and Schedule

This position may involve working in a typical office environment with periods of sitting and computer use, and may require physical tasks during site visits. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and work assignments. Salary
