CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a
Conceptual Data Modeler
within our Intel sector, advancing the national security mission through cutting‑edge technology. The role requires a passion for rapidly evolving technology and the ability to collaborate on high‑quality, scalable IT solutions.
The Conceptual Data Modeler creates high‑level diagrams that map core business concepts and their relationships. These models serve as a foundational blueprint for data architecture, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and a shared understanding across the organization.
Location: Arlington, VA (hybrid work model acceptable).
Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into conceptual data models.
Develop high‑level models identifying main data entities and relationships.
Align models with the organization’s business strategy and objectives.
Communicate models to business and technical teams.
Support data governance by defining core data concepts for standardization and compliance.
Maintain and update models as business processes evolve.
Qualifications Junior
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 0‑2 years.
Security Clearance: TS/SCI required; TS/SCI with poly highly desired.
Analytical skills to evaluate problems and develop data solutions.
Communication skills to articulate data concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Business acumen to translate business needs into data concepts.
Proficiency with data‑modeling tools and understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
Collaboration skills for working with data architects, analysts, and developers.
Problem‑solving mindset for resolving data structure and flow issues.
Senior
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 5‑10 years.
Security Clearance: TS/SCI required; TS/SCI with poly highly desired.
Analytical skills to evaluate problems and develop data solutions.
Communication skills to articulate data concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Business acumen to translate business needs into data concepts.
Proficiency with data‑modeling tools and understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
Collaboration skills for working with data architects, analysts, and developers.
Problem‑solving mindset for resolving data structure and flow issues.
Compensation A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 – $150,000.00.
