What You Will Do
Supports onsite investigations of potential supplier issues to determine accurate disposition.
Manages supplier quality issues through monitoring, escalation, escape management, and processing of non-conforming material submissions and supporting internal MRB processes.
Initiates part‑specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
Supports supplier qualification, certification, and FAI activity.
Manages source inspection and material release processes.
Performs escape management procedures, drives root‑cause analysis & problem solving (Red‑X & 8D), and recommends corrective and preventive actions for systemic process and product design issues from suppliers.
Drives Corrective Action Boards and QC clinics with suppliers.
Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier‑specific quality initiative strategies, addressing them with key proactive tools (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.).
Ensures suppliers meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management, including Resourcing Gate and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
Works within a cross‑functional team supporting the Quality organization by managing and driving closure of activities and schedules.
Drives APQP tool adoption.
Travels to manufacturing sites to assist in quality CI events.
Runs and drives regular meetings with Quality Leadership to understand status and open issues.
Performs supplier compliance audits and follows up on corrective action.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to generate and present executive‑level presentations to leadership.
Travels up to 50%, primarily to Mexicali, MX.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Experience with quality investigations.
Experience in MS Office suite creating PowerPoint presentations.
Qualifications We Prefer
Working experience with Quality and Continuous Improvement tools.
Experience communicating and making presentations to senior level leadership.
Familiar with AS9100 requirements.
Experience with RCCA’s (Root Cause Corrective Action).
Experience working and interacting on a manufacturing shop floor.
Experience working in a central quality or manufacturing organization.
Experience with SAP, EtQ, CATIA, etc.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent or CORE.
Project Engineering Experience.
Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
Experience with AS9145.
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) Certification.
AS9100 Lead auditor.
