Tax Manager

Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr

The Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance, investor tax reporting, and the preparation of the global quarterly tax provision. This role also supports tax planning, research, and special projects while working closely with leadership, auditors, and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance

Prepare and/or review U.S. federal and state income tax filings.

Support the development and implementation of international corporate tax compliance processes and policies.

Prepare and/or review international corporate income tax returns.

Coordinate with external providers on investor tax reporting (e.g., Schedule K-1, Form 5471, PFIC statements).

Assist in resolving tax controversy and audit matters.

Maintain accurate tax basis and earnings & profits calculations.

Income Tax Accounting

Prepare and/or review consolidated global income tax provisions, including:

US GAAP tax provision preparation/review on an entity basis (using Corptax or similar software).

Tax account reconciliations and deferred tax asset realizability analysis.

Review of statutory provisions (SSAP 101).

Preparation of tax disclosures for SEC, NAIC, and local reporting.

Maintenance of internal control documentation.

Coordination with internal and external auditors.

Preparation/review of worldwide tax expense forecasts.

Partner with accounting and finance teams during the quarterly close process.

Tax Planning & Analysis

Conduct tax research, modeling, and analysis related to business initiatives.

Support planning for tax reform and other strategic initiatives.

Technology & Process Improvement

Leverage IT systems and applications to drive automation and improve efficiency across tax processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).

5+ years of tax experience in corporate or public accounting, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.

Strong understanding of ASC 740 and U.S. federal/state tax principles (Subchapter L experience a plus).

Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Corptax, OneSource) and Microsoft Office; experience with general ledger systems.

Excellent tax research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
