Overview
GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking Watershed/Lake Management professionals to join our Southern California offices. The role involves a mix of project work and technical expertise to deliver projects and grow GEI’s watershed and receiving water quality practice. Base pay
Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Note:

Collaborating with and supporting senior scientists and other staff-level scientists for a wide range of environmental monitoring and permitting activities Support and lead collecting of sediment, water, and biological samples Operating field collection equipment (e.g., sediment and water samplers, water quality instruments) Preparation of Work Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plans Field sample collection permitting and communication (e.g., CDFW, USFWS) Boat operations maintenance, trailering, and safety Managing and analyzing field collected data Summarizing and analyzing laboratory results (chemistry, toxicity, and biological communities) Preparing report text and maps, data tables and summaries, and conducting statistical analyses of field collected and laboratory data QA/QC related to data and report review Technical and scientific writing Desired Skills
Project/task management experience Support business development pursuits Participating in regional scientific organizations Advanced statistical analysis experience (multivariate), GIS Knowledge of local and regional water quality regulations (e.g., NPDES permits; TMDLs; SQOs; permits under the Clean Water Act; and related regulatory programs) Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have expertise and training in relevant disciplines (fisheries, aquatic ecology), and interest/training in related disciplines (water quality, hydrology, stream restoration, watershed planning, statistics, natural resources management, permitting, grant writing, FERC and Endangered Species Act analyses) Detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to understand and communicate complex technical, regulatory, and management issues related to aquatic ecology Experience with northern and central California aquatic environments is preferred 6-12 years of prior relevant consulting experience is required; 10+ years is preferred Bachelor’s degree in fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, or related natural resources field is required; Master’s Degree or PhD is preferred GEI is an AA/equal opportunity employer, including disabled and veterans.
